On-Campus Location Guidance for Interviews and Portfolio Reviews

Most courses will be offering on-campus interviews or portfolio reviews before a decision can be made on your application. Wolverhampton (City) Campus - WV1 1LY

BY ROAD - Junction 10 of the M6 is the nearest motorway junction. The University is split into two sites - City Campus North and South - both of which are signposted from the Ring Road and the A449.

Although there is only very limited metered parking by the main reception on Wulfruna Street, there are a number of public pay car parks within walking distance. Of these, the Civic Centre car park, at the end of Wulfruna Street, or the long-term car park off Whitmore/Broad Street is the closest.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

  • By bus: Buses come into the city centre from all over Wolverhampton and the West Midlands. Once you arrive at Wolverhampton bus station walk straight ahead as you exit, past Sainsbury's Local on your left, and continue to the crossroads. At the crossroads continue straight ahead down Lichfield Street, you will see the Britannia hotel and The Grand Theatre on your left as you continue down the road. At the next junction where you reach turn right down the road titled Princess Square – you will see The George, the first University building in front of you. This is the beginning of the 'University Quarter'.
  • By train: The train station is on the main London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, and Edinburgh lines. The station is on Railway Drive, just outside the Ring Road. Once you arrive at Wolverhampton train station and exit, walk straight ahead and veer right across the road bridge going over the ring road.
  • By Metro: The Midland Metro offers a service every 10 minutes throughout the day from Birmingham Grand Central to Wolverhampton St Georges terminus via West Bromwich. Upon exiting the Metro station, walk towards Primark, cross the road and then take a right alongside Marks and Spencers. Continue along this road - it will bend slightly to the right and then back to the left. Keep going until you reach a crossroads. Cross over and continue in the same direction around the Royal London Buildings. You should now see The George, the first University building in front of you. This is the beginning of the 'University Quarter'.

Walsall Campus - WS1 3BD

BY ROAD - Walsall Campus is just minutes from Junction 9 of the M6 motorway. Take the A461 Bescott Road towards Walsall. Get into the right-hand lane and follow the right fork of the A4148, signposted Birmingham. The entrance for general visitors is from Gorway Road, accessible via Jesson Road from Birmingham Road off The Broadway roundabout.

Parking - Parking is available on both sides of campus.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

  • By bus: The Number 51 bus takes you from the Walsall bus station to Jesson Road near the campus.
  • By train: The Walsall train station is on the West Midlands Railway line with a direct link on the London Northwestern Railway line. From Walsall station, you can either take a taxi or walk the short distance to the bus station, from where you can get a number 51 bus as above.

Telford Campus - TF2 9NN

BY ROAD - Approaching from the east (inc. Birmingham and Wolverhampton), leave the M54 at Junction 4 and take the A4640 (previously the B5060) Castle Farm Way. At the first roundabout, turn left on to to the A5 Telford Way (also known as St George's bypass), then at the Priorslee roundabout take the second exit on to Shifnal Road. The campus entrance is a short drive on the left-hand side.

Coming from the west (inc. Shrewsbury and Wales), leave the M54 at Junction 5 and take the A5 Rampart Way. Go straight over the interchange on to the A5 Telford Way, cross over the motorway, and at the Priorslee roundabout take the Shifnal Road turning.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

By train: You can get a direct train into Telford Central from Birmingham (30 to 35 minutes), Wolverhampton (15 to 25 minutes) and stations on the Shrewsbury line. From there, you can catch the or pick up a taxi to the campus (or even walk in about 15 minutes).

By bus: There is no direct bus service to the Campus.
