Undergraduate and Postgraduate Social Work Interview
Once you have applied for one of our Social Work* courses and if you have been shortlisted, you will be invited for an interview.
Courses: BA (Hons) Social Work and MA Social Work.
Interview method: Interviews will be On-Campus for HOME students and only Online for INTERNATIONAL applicants for those wishing to start in 2025.
On Campus: The Rosalind Franklin(MB) Building, Wolverhampton City Campus, WV1 1LY. Directions can be found here.
Interview preparation- Important Information
Pre-interview tasks required:
- Have a form of identification (e.g. passport, driving licence, etc.) ready to present on arrival.
- You can read two articles to read in readiness for the written test ahead of your interview. You are allowed to bring one side of A4 handwritten notes.

- Do you know enough about the course you have applied for? Research information about the course and visit our open days and postgraduate open evenings where you can come and speak to our staff and students www.wlv.ac.uk/opendays.
- For HOME applicants (On-Campus)) please arrive from 30 minutes before the interview to ensure you are on time. In many cases, latecomers will not be permitted.There are refreshment facilities on campus and if you are accompanied to your interview, your guest is welcome to use these whilst you have your interview.
- For INTERNATIONAL applicants (Online) interviews, please ensure you have fully charged device and you have your e-mail account open on this device no later than 10 minutes before your interview time.
- At the start of the interview, you must show a form of picture ID as proof of who the interviewer is talking to. Acceptable documents include a passport, driving license, college ID badge, etc. (please note we do not accept copies).
- As a guide, the interview day will involve the following:
Written Test, Course Presentation, Break - results of written task stating if you can continue to interview, Group Discussion, Break, and then Interview.
After attending your interview, you will be notified on whether or not you’ve passed within 3-5 working days. If you are successful, your offer will be confirmed within 14 working days.

If you’re unable to attend your interview, you can decline your date/time via e:Vision up to 48 hours before your selection event and you must then log a helpdesk call to request a new date or withdrawal.
