If you have applied to study a degree course with a foundation year at the University of Wolverhampton then we run Prepare for Foundation Assessment Days which are mandatory to the application process should you not meet a minimum of 48 UCAS points.
Courses: The standard Prepare to Foundation Assessment Day is for all foundation year courses *except and not including Health Profession Foundation Year courses.
Method: Prepare for Foundation Year Assessment Days will be On-Campus for those wishing to start in 2024.

Assessment Day preparation- Important Information
Pre-assessment day tasks required:
- Have a form of identification (e.g. passport, driving license, etc.) ready to present on arrival.
- You are required to complete a task before attending the day. We ask that you write in as much detail as per the wordage specified in each section of the written task. Unfortunately, you will not be permitted to attend your booked session if you do not complete the Prepare for Foundation task before your arrival.
- Please complete and bring a printed copy of the following task: Prepare-for-Foundation-Assessment-Task-Standard (Word doc 87k)
- Do you know enough about the course you have applied for? Research information about the course and visit our open days, come and speak to our staff and students www.wlv.ac.uk/opendays.
- The day starts promptly at 9am, so please ensure that you allow plenty of time to travel to the campus and building where you are asked to arrive. As this is an assessment event you will be required to arrive on time, we will not permit any latecomers.
- We expect applicants to attend a Prepare for Foundation Assessment Day, failure to attend this program will result in your application being deemed unsuccessful.
After attending your assessment day, you will be notified of whether or not you’ve passed within 3-5 working days. If you are successful, your offer will be confirmed within 14 working days.
*For our Art, Design, Media, and Multimedia Journalism Foundation year courses, if you successfully pass the Prepare for Foundation Year Assessment day you will be required to provide a digital portfolio showcasing your creative ability. If you’re unable to attend your assessment day, you can amend your date/time via e:Vision up to 72 hours before your assessment day. If you’re unable to attend less than 72 hours before, please contact us by email or phone as soon as possible. Find out how to amend your appointment here.
