I've not received my funding yet, what do I do!
If you have received your SLC notification letter
If you have received your notification letter from the Student Loans Company and completed your enrolment, but have still not received any money, your funding should be released shortly so keep an eye on your bank account.
Make sure that you have completed all of the enrolment tasks as this may delay receipt of your funding. Please note that the funds won't be released until after the first day of term even if you are fully enrolled before that date.
If you have not received your notification letter
Have you checked your Student Finance Account on the www.gov.uk/studentfinance website to make sure you’ve supplied all the evidence required?
We advise you to print off the Student Account Summary page, should you need to show the University proof of application.
Some common problems
Student Finance check with the DWP to ensure you have provided the correct national Insurance number. They do not do this until your application has been fully approved.
Please note: this normally takes a week (Wednesday to Wednesday), so please ensure you return any evidence and submit the form in plenty of time.
If you do not have a British passport contact Student Finance England for advice. You can send the original copy of your birth certificate instead. More information can be found at www.gov.uk/apply-for-student-finance/proof-of-identity
Have you checked the Track and Trace facility on the Royal Mail website:www.royalmail.com to see if it has been delivered?
If so, your evidence may have been received, but your student finance account may not have been updated to show this yet. Allow a couple of weeks before checking again.
If at any point you are asked for your Student Support Number in relation to your funding then you can either look it up on your notification of entitlement letter or ring Student Finance and ask for it over the phone.
It normally begins with a series of 4 letters (usually SFDU but not always) followed by 8 numbers and then 1 final letter.
With Student Finance you have a Customer Reference number and with us a 7-digit student number each of which identify you to that organisation. The Student Support Number is a linked identifier between Student Finance and us.
This means we need to confirm electronically whether you have fully enrolled on a course here at Wolverhampton. It normally happens automatically but can sometimes take longer depending on when your finance was completely processed. You need to check that the course and University details on your payment letter are correct. If not then this can delay your funding.
If you have been told by Student Finance that everything is ready except for this (and the course and University details are correct) you simply log a helpdesk call via the help and contacts tab of your e:Vision and request we send a confirmation off. Please have your student support number handy and add into the call.
