I was born in 1985 in Istanbul to a family full of doctors and engineers. This family dynamic forced me to study law for two years. But my passion for art made me quit law school to become an artist.
Thanks to my professors and classmates, the 3 years I spent at the university were by far the best years of my life. Art is a major that develops with experiences. Every day we were experiencing something new. With the guidance of our tutors, we have developed an urge to explore something new and never afraid of making mistakes.
For this reason, it is impossible for me to choose my favourite memory.
I can't thank my tutors enough.
Right after I finished Wolverhampton University Art and Design Animation, I graduated from Bournemouth University 3D Computer Animation. And I started to work as a CGI artist in the UK. In 2011 I moved back to Turkey. After working in post-production and animation companies for a couple of years, in 2013 I decided to open my own company called Far Land Studios. Since then, I am creating contents for the advert and future films.
I am currently working as a corporate identity and design senior specialist in the MarCom department at Mercedes-Benz Türk. I am responsible for all the digital and the print media for all brands and sub-brands of Mercedes-Benz Türk.
I am also the owner of a small FX and animation studio for 7 years, based in Istanbul/Turkey, called Far Land, working as a manager/producer and creative director. Highlights of my experience and position in the studio include: team and pipeline management, budget keeping and creative directing as well as asset creation, modelling, character design, animation and motion graphics.
Based on more than 10 years of experience, I believe the most important thing is to always try new things and keep learning. Try to gain as much experience as possible in the field you want to progress. Repeat what has been done before and examine why and how they were made.
When you try something the first time, if it works, it mostly depends on luck. If it works on the 100th time that depends on how much you want it to work.
