Fine Art at Wolverhampton is a predominately studio based course. As a Fine art student your will have a dedicated studio space in a purpose built environment.

The Fine Art studios are open for you to work in 5 days a week from 8.30 am – 8.00pm

The current studio provision is carefully designed to support students working across the broad spectrum of contemporary fine art practice and has provision for:
- large sculpture and 3d construction
- painting and drawing
- installation and print
- photography and film.

Fine Art students also have access to a wide range of specialist workshops that support the whole of the school of Art including:
- Traditional and digital print studios
- wood, metal and plastic workshops,
- digital, photographic and moving image suites
- a working stone yard and foundry with a bronze casting facility.
A specialist team of technicians support students working in these facilities by providing the opportunity to observe and learn new skills, sourcing specialist materials, and working alongside students to help them make and exhibit their individual projects to a high professional standard.

Our students have access to specialist Wood, Metal and Plastics workshops, Ceramic workshops, Glass working workshops and Traditional Print workshops. Alongside a specialist in-house digital printing service – the Print Support Hub.
Ceramic Workshops
The Ceramic Workshops at Wolverhampton are among the best equipped in the country. Our students have access to a range of specialist facilities including: Plaster workshops, Throwing area, Glaze room, Kiln room, Raku yard and Studios.
Glass working Workshops
We have access one of the largest, best equipped glass-making workshop areas in Europe, giving students the opportunity to experience a broad range of techniques to realise their creative aspirations.
Photo Studio
Massive double-height spaces, our coves have hosted fashion events, professional photographic events, and even a Formula 3 motorcar photoshoot! Lots of space for you to shoot, comfortable seating for clients and models, private hair & makeup studio with changing facilities make this a great resource.
Print Support Hub
The Print Support Hub is a technically supported, open access area. It offers all School of Art students a range of specialist printers that are capable of printing onto a vast array of different materials.
Including:
- A3 Risograph printer
- 2 medium format high-end Epson printers (A4, A3, A3+ and A2)
- Large format thermal lithographic printer
- Large Format Mimaki textile printer
- Large Format Mimaki textile printer
The room also offers two large format scanners that will scan artwork up to A0 size.
Wood, Metal and Plastics Workshops
Large individual Wood, Metal and Plastics workshops with specialised technical support. Plastics modelling workshop offers laser cutter/engraving machine, 3D printers and Vacuum forming machine. Wood workshop has four specialist circular saws and a large scale CNC Router. Metals workshops contains MIG, TIG, Spot and Plasma cutters and Lathes.
