  • Please provide me with the total number of malicious emails blocked by your organisation over the last three calendar years (2021, 2020, 2019) broken down by year and categorised accordingly.   
  • Example:   
  • 2020  
  • 23,000 suspected phishing emails  
  • 250,000 spam emails  
  • 13,000 malware  

 

Response:  

In accordance with Section 1(1)(a) of the FOIA, I can confirm that the University does hold the requested information in part as some of the information pertaining to the scope of your request does not exist. I have decided to disclose the requested information, which exist, in full. 

Information pertaining to the number of malicious emails blocked by the University in 2019, 2020 and January – September 2021 is not held. The University does have this information recorded from October 2021.This decision has been made after all reasonable steps have been taken to locate the requested information. Whilst I acknowledge that it is the principle object of the FOIA to provide public access to documents, I am satisfied that the requested information does not exist.
