Return to Practice (Nursing) ePAD

This specific guide is designed primarily for Return to Practice (Nursing) students but may also be useful for Academic Assessors and Practice Assessors.

This guide has two main functions:

  • It will provide information about some of the specific activities that you need to perform as a Return to Practice (Nursing) student and direct you to the general ePAD resources to assist you in navigating the RtP ePAD.

  • Although you will be directed to the existing ePAD training resources this guide will also explain how the RtP ePAD differs from the general Pre Registration e PAD.

If you have any further questions, please submit an ePAD support ticket.

Return to Practice (Nursing) ePAD

  • RtP ePAD is an online platform, which enables you to complete your entire Practice Assessment Document (PAD), gain valuable feedback and obtain sign-off in practice, electronically.

  • RtP ePAD is predominantly accessed online, however, it is also accompanied by a mobile app version enabling you, and your practice assessors and practice supervisors to complete assessments and documentations offline on a mobile phone. This is particularly useful where there is limited access to a desktop computer, laptop, or Wi-Fi signal.

  • The RtP ePAD will be predominantly used and accessed online via a desktop computer or laptop.

You will access your RtP ePAD account using your university login credentials here.

Please use the general training resources and FAQ’s for the ePAD via our web page as the ePAD looks very similar to RtP ePAD so the general ePAD videos will be useful.  As well as looking similar, their functionality is the same and the landing page is almost identical.

There are a few differences in the documents within the RtP ePAD and how they are used which are highlighted below.

The RtP ePAD differences are :

  • Overall clinical placement hours are different in the RTP PAD and pre-reg nursing ePAD(MYEPAD). All RtP students will have 300 clinical practice hours to complete but can complete earlier (between 150 and 300).

  • Tripartite Review of proficiencies - RtP students are required to complete a ‘Tripartite Review of Proficiencies’ before commencing their clinical placement.
