Students’ Union to host topical debate

06/02/2012

Students will be putting a panel of experts on the spot at a Question Time-style event at the University of Wolverhampton.

Local MPs Paul Uppal and Emma Reynolds will be among the panellists at the Students’ Union Debate on Thursday, 9 February 2012 at 7.30pm.

Also joining the panel will be Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Affairs Jane Nelson and President of the University of Wolverhampton Students’ Union Ken Harris.

The topics for debate in the SU Lounge at City Campus will be student fees and university funding, environmental policies and future employment opportunities for graduates.

Organiser Daniel Batchelor said: “We’re hoping for a lively debate on a number of issues that face today’s students. We’re really pleased to have such a great panel at the debate and look forward to hearing their thoughts on the topics.”

The debate will be hosted in a similar format to the popular BBC Question Time format. The chair will take questions from the audience consisting of students and University staff for the panel to address.

A similar successful event was held in November.
