  • We design and deliver a variety of pre-sessional English courses for students who need support with their English before starting their degree courses.
  • We deliver four International Foundation Year courses which help provide an educational bridge for international students before they start on a degree of their choice, subject to professional body requirements and our Extended International Foundation Year courses give you the opportunity to study and complete the programme on a single CAS.
  • We design and deliver language development and communication courses for existing University students both in foreign languages and English as a Foreign Language.
  • We deliver tailor-made and internationally recognised teacher training and development courses.  See our TESOL pages. (The International Academy is a British Council preferred supplier for their General Teacher Training Programme in China and runs refresher/improvement courses throughout the year for English teachers from all over the world).
  • We are accredited by the British Council (PDF)for the teaching of English in the UK.

  • We are planning to run Italian and Spanish language classes for beginners on Tuesday evenings from the 5th June, at the new Stafford Centre (UWiS).  Classes will be of 2 hours duration and will run for 12 weeks.  Find out more please email: UWiS.Enquiries@wlv.ac.uk
  • May will see us hosting the third ASPIRE to Higher Education programme which will involve Year 10 students from local schools.  This language based project will combine residential stays and Saturday clubs and will be based on the F1 Racing car.  The programme will run until the end of June and has been designed to encourage students to engage with Higher Education.

  • We offer a January or September start on our International Foundation Year courses. ‌
  • Our Extended International Foundation Year offers students the chance to enrol with IELTS 4.5 (with no element less than 4.0 in any component) or 5.0.
  • Our Pre-Master's courses are specifically designed for international students who need to bridge the gap between their previous qualifications and experience and postgraduate study. Find out more about the Pre Master's courses.

  • We have a new dates for the Wolverhampton English Proficiency Examination, 13 June, 10 July, 8 August and 13 September 2018.
  • The International Academy offers a range of free language support to both undergraduate and postgraduate students who are users of English as an Additional Language, irrespective of their fee status or domicile.
