Kortext eTextbook scheme

Kortext eTextbook scheme

This year, the University Library is working with the eTextbook provider Kortext to provide students with free access to electronic textbooks for titles marked as “essential” on your reading lists.

Books provided on the Kortext platform are available 24/7, and there are no reservation queues or wait times, meaning students can access these books any time and don’t need to purchase their own personal copies.

So far this year, the library’s Kortext project has supported over 9,000 students with access to over 30,000 copies of textbooks.

What’s new?

Shortly Kortext will be sending mid-term reminders of which books from your reading list are hosted on Kortext and how to access them. Please take a moment to read these emails and find out which titles are being made available for you on Kortext.

The best way to access these titles day-to-day is to click through to them from your module reading list in Canvas, where all the books related to your module will be listed.

A small number of essential titles may not be available through the Kortext platform, but these will still be provided for you through the library’s other ebook collections or occasionally in print format, and these can all be found on your modules reading list.

If you have any queries accessing any resources from your reading list, please contact the library for help via our live LIBRARY ASSIST service.
