Apprenticeships and Careers Service

The University of Wolverhampton’s Careers Service is committed to inclusivity, accessibility, and to supporting all our students, irrespective of their course, level of study, campus, full-time, part-time, online or whether they are UK or International.

We are fully aware that our apprenticeships will require an impartial, sensitive, and bespoke service based around self-development, goals-setting, leadership, promoting one-self, and managing a career with an employer.

Our adherence, obligation and commitment to apprenticeships is literally written into a service-level agreement between apprenticeship course leaders and our Careers Consultants.

We sincerely hope that all our apprenticeships utilise the following resources and find them useful in their career journey:

Careers SPACE

This careers platform has customised information, advice, guidance, and interactive exercises for apprenticeships. Activities include developing your CV, Interview simulation, practice psychometric tests, goals-setting, industry reports, case studies, setting up your LinkedIn profile and lots more.

Appointments

Apprenticeships can book 20 minutes appointments between Monday and Friday using the Career SPACE platform. We can also offer longer appointments with the Careers Consultant for your faculty. Feel free to negotiate a day and time around your work commitments by emailing your faculty Careers Consultant:

Enterprise and Intrapreneurship

Alongside employability, the University of Wolverhampton is very keen to ensure that our students, including apprenticeships become enterprising, creative, commercially aware, innovative, and adaptable.

To be enterprising is to keep your mind and eyes open, undertake research before acting; as well as being prepared and resourceful as a student and an employee.

The term intrapreneurship refers to a system that allows employees to take direct responsibility to turn ideas into profitable products, services, and businesses.

For more information and support to develop your skills in enterprise and intrapreneurship you can contact our Enterprise team: Enterprise@wlv.ac.uk
