Lisa Bramwell

Senior Lecturer in Primary Education

I have been privileged to work as a Primary School teacher. From 1999 to 2017 I have taught children from four to fourteen years old both in mainstream and special needs schools in the West Midlands, Staffordshire and on the other side of the world!

I relocated with my family and worked as a teacher in New Zealand for three years. It was the most amazing life experience and I truly cherished every moment. In Primary schools I have undertaken roles ranging from leading subjects, educational visits co-ordinator and was a Deputy Headteacher for three years. In September 2017 I joined the IOE and I am now relishing the opportunity to further extend myself professionally with a change in career direction in my new role as a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education.

I work within the Primary team under the Faculty of Education Health and Wellbeing. I teach on the PGCE, BA (hons) undergraduate course. Early education is my passion, I have written an Early Years enhancement unit for the PGCEs. I am also interested in well-being and mental health of both children and adults.  I have enthusiasm and an abundance of passion for education.

I feel privileged to be able to impact on the next generation of teachers and enable them to have the opportunity to make a difference to so many children.
