Disability History Month Conference

The Disability Staff Network is hosting a conference to celebrate Disability History Month, with a focus on raising awareness of hidden disabilities and poor mental awareness.  

The event will be opened by Vice-Chancellor Geoff Layer, who has conducted extensive research on the challenges facing disabled students. Other speakers include, Clare Dickens (Senior Lecturer in Mental Health) talking about how we can better understand mental health, and Dr Adam Burns (Senior Lecturer in History) about the steps which US Presidents Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy took to hide their disabilities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops and a quiz to test general knowledge of disabilities.

Location: Chancellor's Hall (MA Wulfruna Building)

This event is open to the public, student participation is highly encouraged. Food and refreshments will be provided.
