Conflict in the Middle East

16/06/2025

Dear students,

We recognise that the ongoing conflict and tensions in parts of the Middle East, including Israel and Iran, may be distressing for our University community. We understand that members of our student and staff community may have personal, cultural or familial connections to the affected regions affected and may be feeling a range of emotions at this time.

We want to assure all our students and staff that the University is a supportive, respectful and inclusive environment for all.

Students can access emotional and practical support through the services available within our Directorate of Student Life which includes our mental health and wellbeing team. Additionally, students also have the option of gaining support via our dedicated 24 hour helpline via WLV Student Life Connect

Please remember, you are not alone. We encourage anyone affected to seek support - the University is committed to the wellbeing of all its staff and students and is here for you.

Take care,

Professor Prashant Pillai
