Join a funding surgery this summer

Will you be repeating a year of your studies and need help to organise your funding?

If you need to repeat a year of your studies, you'll need to ensure you've made adjustments to your student loan application with Student Finance England (SFE).

The Funding team, together with the SU, is running drop-in Funding Surgeries to support you with any funding-related queries:

  • Monday 20 to Friday 24 June, from 10am to 4pm
  • Monday 8 to Friday 12 August, from 10am to 4pm

No booking is required. Drop into the Harrison Library at City Campus with any questions or concerns about funding.

During the surgeries, we'll be able to advise you on the financial support available to you, such as hardship funding, emergency loans and signposting to further support.

Who will be there?

  • Dennis Turner Fund coordinator: The Dennis Turner Fund is the name of our hardship funding programme for students who need additional financial support during their studies.
  • A member of The Workplace team: During the surgeries, an employment adviser will be available to support students if they need support with finding part-time work.
  • An ARC (Advice and Representation Centre) representative from the Students' Union: ARC offers professional, free, impartial, independent, and confidential advice and representation for students. During the surgeries, a representative will be present between 11-3 to assist students seeking advice on funding.

If you cannot attend a surgery and have queries regarding your funding, you can email: Money@wlv.ac.uk.

Dennis Turner Hardship Fund

The Dennis Turner Hardship Fund is available to all students (home and international) who are financially struggling. You must be fully enrolled to be eligible.

Applications are accepted throughout the summer and should be submitted in e:Vision.
