Ensuring human rights for people with a learning disability and autism

The University of Wolverhampton and the Black Country Branch of British Association of Social Workers (BASW) welcome Andrea Pope Smith to the latest of their monthly seminar series.

Ensuring human rights for people with a learning disability and autism will take place on Thursday, March 7th in room MC001.  

Andrea has over 40 years experience in Health and Social Care and was Director of the Adult Social Services in the West Midlands, Chair of the West Midlands Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) and led the ADASS response  to the Winterbourne View scandal and the development of the Transforming Care agenda.

Andrea is currently an independent health and care sonsultatnt and improvement advisor for the Local Government Association.

The event will be of interest to students and staff from a range of subject disciplines across the universty but significantly in health, social care and social work.
