Lord Paul Award: Pitch your business for the chance to win up to £10,000

The Enterprise team is pleased to launch The Lord Paul Award 2022, an exciting opportunity for nine fledgeling entrepreneurs to receive a cash prize to develop their business and specialist business consultancy support.   

What’s on offer? 

The Lord Paul Fund will support nine student entrepreneurs in the form of a prize fund to support early-stage businesses with prizes broken down as follows: 

• One prize of £10,000
• Two prizes of £5,000
• Six prizes of £1,000

In addition to the cash prize, each final nine will receive five hours of specialist business consultancy to help them take the next step with their business idea. 

Who can apply? 

To be eligible to apply to the fund, you must: 

• be a current student of The University of Wolverhampton (Undergraduate or Postgraduate) 
• already be running a business that is actively trading and is registered in the UK or be at a well-developed ideation stage 
• be planning business activities that align with the ethics of the University of Wolverhampton 

How do I apply? 

It’s a straightforward process: 

• create and upload a 90-second business pitch video to a video sharing site of your choice 
• complete the short online application form (link below), including the link to your 90-second video pitch 
• sit back and wait for the Enterprise team to get in touch – we will contact all applicants once the final nine have been chosen 

The application period has been extended - submit by Friday 29th April, 4 pm. 

How will the prizes be decided for the final nine? 

Once the applications have been whittled down, the final nine will be invited to attend a business pitching workshop in early May in readiness for a final live pitch to the judging panel later in May. Prizes will then be awarded, and winners announced.
