WLV Big Read 2019 Shortlist – Your chance to choose

We would like to invite you to give feedback on the Wolverhampton Big Read 2019 shortlist. Now in its third year, this shared reading scheme is part of our initiatives to widen participation and inclusion.

Every summer, the Faculty of Science and Engineering sends a special edition of a chosen book to all new students as a welcome gift. The aim is to give students a common experience to talk about when they first arrive at University and help them settle into their new environment.

This year's WLV Big Read shortlist is as follows:

  • Rachel Joyce "The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry"
  • Mark Carew "The Book of Alexander"
  • Jane Rogers "The Testament of Jessie Lamb"
  • Claudia Chibici-Reveneau "Of Murder, Muses and Me"
  • Oyinkan Braithwaite "My Sister, the Serial Killer"
  • Robert Harris "Conclave"

If you have read any of the shortlisted titles, please share your thoughts using the hashtag #WLVBigRead. Alternatively, you can email the project lead Natia Sopromadze at n.sopromadze@wlv.ac.uk. Collating all the feedback, the final choice will be made by a panel of staff and students across the Big Read partner institutions on 17 April 2019.
