Social Sport De-stress

During week commencing 29 April 2019, all social sport sessions will be free of charge to University students and staff.

This is a crucial time for students as they are expected to cope with the demands of submitting multiple assignments, sitting various exams and still coping with everyday life stresses. Any form of physical activity can help lower your stress levels, both mentally and physically. Exercising regularly can have a positive effect on your mood by relieving the tension, anxiety, anger, and mild depression that often go hand-in-hand with stress. It can improve the quality of your sleep, which can be hampered by stress, depression, and anxiety. It can also help boost your confidence levels.

The whole aim of the social sport programme is to give students an opportunity to have fun, engage in sport or physical activities and meet new people. You may even find that there is a second or third year student playing across the court from you who has studied the same modules.

Check out the timetable or email social-sport@wlv.ac.uk to find out what you can get involved with. All sessions are on campus, and equipment is provided to save you any extra expenses.
