I have taught on a variety of modules across all levels including the Cilex Apprenticeship, LLB Law degree and Postgraduate courses.

I currently teach modules such as English Legal System, Contract Law, Contractual Validity, Criminal Law, Family & Child Law and more.

I am module leader for Family and Child Law at Level 5 and strive to keep the module impactful and up to date with the mass of reforms currently underway.

I completed my Legal Practice Course and Masters in Law, and decided I wanted to work in education. I worked with the University as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for two years with the aim to bridge any gaps in communication between academic staff and the students whilst completing my PGCE.

I have now been a lecturer with the University for a number of years and hope to make contributions to the research department. I hope to ensure that students stay motivated, supported and able to achieve.

I am currently researching the most recently released government strategy to tackle Violence against Women and Girls. I will be analysing the agenda set and whether the suggestions made have in fact been implemented and whether more needs to be done here by way of legal reform.

My research interests are centred in Family Law with a cross over into Criminal Law. Stemming from this I hope to look deeper into reforms and protective measures in place surrounding issues such as forced marriages, FGM, domestic abuse and more.

  • LLB (Hons)
  • Legal Practice Course

  • PGCE

I have worked with numerous secondary schools in the community through the university outreach projects. This is a great way to get young children involved with the university, and allowing them to participate in the practical side of the legal sector. I hope to engage more students with Law and encourage them to continue into higher education and the opportunities available to them.
