I was employed by West Midlands Ambulance Service from 1993 to 2017, gaining my paramedic qualification in 1998. During my service career I gained experience by working in various settings, these included working operationally as both a Paramedic and a Paramedic Officer, undertaking secondments as an Advanced Driving Instructor and working within both 999 and 111 call centres.  More recent roles have involved the development of Alternative Care Pathways within a health care setting and as a Strategic Operational Commander within a Regional Control Centre.

In August 2017 I joined the University of Wolverhampton as a full time Senior Lecturer on the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science course. My main teaching responsibilities are in the sciences underpinning paramedic practice, skills for paramedic practice, trauma and critical care clinical practice.
