The Brownfield Research and Innovation Centre (BRIC) is a research Centre based at the University of Wolverhampton.

We offer innovative, bespoke support to Black Country* SMEs who require assistance with any aspect of brownfield remediation and regeneration - and its totally free#!

*Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton based Small Medium Enterprises
#dependent on completion of the minimum assist duration and compliance with the conditions set out in the beneficiary agreement:

To be an eligible SME the enterprise must have fewer than 250 employees, must have an annual turnover not exceeding €50m (£35m) and/or an annual balance sheet total not exceeding €43m (£30m) and must not be 25% or more owned by any other enterprises or public bodies.


How we can help

Using our state-of-the-art XRF, XRD and Electron Microscope equipment, we can provide an accurate assessment of contaminants present in the soil.

Using our advanced equipment we will help you to map spaces both within and outside of existing building structures.

Our academic professionals collect and analyse your material samples, providing robust information and innovative remediation techniques.

We use GIS to identify site suitability and to provide specific spatial or geographic data.

We will work with you to collate exploratory data and the best way to address any issues on your site.
