PhD working title: The Friends' Ambulance Unit - A Record of Goodwill

Areas of expertise: World Wars One and Two Europe; Quakers; Humanitarianism

My background has generally been in the area of property sales and then the Land Registry as an Executive Officer. After that my husband and I ran our own business in property lettings, until in 2010 I became a full time student at the University of Wolverhampton and basically never left.

Although we still have our own business, I fell in love with the world of academia and completed my BA, MA and am now in the process of researching my PhD.

As a mature student, I feel I have adjusted well to University life and hope to continue studying and contributing to the world of Higher Education.

MA English Literature (Distinction) - University of Wolverhampton

BA (Hons) English and History (First) - University of Wolverhampton

World War Two Holocaust/ War Studies

As a PhD researcher my interests are naturally limited to my project of humanitarianism by NGOs specifically to the defeated peoples in Germany and Austria. However, the World Wars are of great relevance to my imminent seminar work, particularly Holocaust studies.
