International consultancy grows team with new Black Country recruits

Global construction, property and management consultant, Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) has grown its team with the appointment of seven Black Country graduates from the University of Wolverhampton.
RLB is a leading independent consultancy specialising in cost management and quantity surveying, project and programme management, building surveying and health and safety, and advisory services. It has employed seven University School of Architecture and Built Environment students over the past year. The graduates are all based in the company’s Birmingham office.
Joining RLB as a Building Surveyor, Thomas Biddle, 32 years old from Wolverhampton, studied for a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Building Studies and a degree in Building Surveying. Richard Cameron, 45, James Crossley, 34, Matt Robinson, 45 and Ryan Higgs, 25, all from Wolverhampton, as well as Robyn Goddard, aged 26 from Newport, all studied for degrees in Building Surveying and also join RLB as Building Surveyors. Amandeep Kaur, 25 years old from Wednesbury, studied for a degree in Interior Architecture and Property Development and has been appointed as a CAD technician at RLB.
Paul Hampton, Head of the School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Wolverhampton, said: “We have close ties with industry and work with employers to ensure that graduates are equipped with the skills that they need when they go out into the workplace.
“To have seven graduates from the School of Architecture and Built Environment all working for the same company is a real achievement for the University and shows the calibre of student we are preparing for employment.”
Adam Ellis-Morgan, managing partner at RLB in Birmingham, said: “We always see a very high calibre of graduates coming through from the University of Wolverhampton that have great technical knowledge as well as being well-rounded people that are keen to hit the ground running.
“We are always keen to assist graduates in acquiring technical, personal and business skills to help them to reach their full potential. Our recent graduates have brought innovative skills and ways of working as well as fresh thinking to the RLB team in Birmingham and they all understand the importance of working collaboratively.”
Robyn Goddard, building surveyor at RLB in Birmingham, says: “The University of Wolverhampton has really prepared me for my role at a fast-paced consultancy due to its high standards and stringent targets.
“In my new role at RLB, I’ve been encouraged to follow an ambition of mine – pursuing qualifications as a chartered surveyor through RICS. Without all the guidance, support and passion from the university, I wouldn’t be in the position I am today.”
