CLEARING CASE STUDY: LEONNIE WYMAN, LLB (HONS) LAW

11/08/2017

Applying to the University of Wolverhampton through the Clearing process was a surprising experience for Leonnie Wyman – and one that she would recommend.

The 21-year-old had started a course at a different university and felt it wasn’t the right place for her.

Rather than waiting another year to apply, Leonnie seized the opportunity to apply to the University of Wolverhampton Law School.

She says: “Due to my circumstances at the time, Clearing was the only option available to me. I had already done two years at a different university and felt that it wasn’t right for me. I didn’t want to wait another year to apply.

“The experience of Clearing surprised me. I expected it to be a long-winded process but it was quite quick. It was done within an hour, and I had my offer.

“I was in direct communication with the Head of Law, and had all the information I needed to make a decision. He really made me feel at ease with my situation.”

And Leonnie, from Dudley, is really enjoying studying for a LLB (Hons) Law and loves the campus.

She adds: “I am finding my studying rewarding. I am really enjoying the subject and campus. It is a very welcoming campus and is very easy to navigate around. It has got a lovely appearance and a lovely feel to it.

“There are a lot of academic resources and places to study, including quiet zones, and a lot of technology to use.”

For anyone considering Clearing this year, Leonnie’s advice is to go for it:

“I would say to anyone considering going through Clearing not to be disheartened that this the option you have been led to. It’s the reason I’m studying today and I have a lot to be thankful for.”
