Christmas extravaganza to celebrate the best in the city


A Christmas extravaganza is coming to Wolverhampton as part of a special free event to celebrate the city.

The University of Wolverhampton, Wolves FC and The Mander Centre are joining together for the second time to host ‘In the City Day’ on Monday, 19 December 2016.

The free event is aimed at families and will take place in The Mander Centre from 11am to 3.30pm.


The star attractions include:

  • First team players from Wolves FC signing autographs
  • Changes to win free tickets to see Father Christmas in his grotto
  • A free human snow globe
  • A fashion show featuring students from the University of Wolverhampton
  • A range of offers with selected retailers in the centre
  • A chance to win a shopping spree and other spot prizes including two chances to be the Wolves mascot and lead out the team at Molineux
  • Music and drama performances from the University’s students
  • Free family fun activities including face-painting, craft activities and a ‘best dressed’ competition.

Katharine Clough, University of Wolverhampton Director of External Relations, said: “We’re really looking forward to joining together with Wolves and The Mander Centre to host this special event. It’s a perfect opportunity to celebrate all that is good in Wolverhampton and we can’t wait to see lots of families enjoying themselves on the day.”
