University of Turin students welcomed to Wolverhampton
Students from the University of Turin, Italy, have participated in a month-long visit programme with the University of Wolverhampton.
With the programme now in its 16th year, the students attended lectures in law, business, history, media, sociology and politics within the University of Wolverhampton’s Faculty of Social Sciences.
They also participated in two modules of English as a Foreign Language through the University’s International Academy, to further improve their English spoken and written language.
Staying on campus in Telford, the students enjoyed cultural visits to Stratford-upon-Avon and Cardiff.
The study trip is part of a programme set up by the University of Wolverhampton in 1999 with Professor Giuseppina Cortese in Turin. Over 180 Italian students have now visited the University of Wolverhampton.
Eleanor Andrews, Senior Lecturer in Italian and Course Leader for Film Studies, who organises the visits in collaboration with Adam Yardley and Uzmat Mhatab at Telford Innovation Campus, said: “As always, it’s a pleasure to have the students from Turin with us at Wolverhampton. They settled in very well to student life here and enjoyed all of the marvellous facilities we have to offer. It’s also of great benefit for our own students to integrate with visiting students from the EU, learn about different countries, to make friends and to learn together.”
