Lord Heseltine visits city
Lord Heseltine visited the University of Wolverhampton Science Park to discuss the region’s strategy for growing business.
The former Deputy Prime Minister was hosted by the Black Country Growth Hub and Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) members, which provides support and information for local businesses looking to grow.
Among those who met with Lord Heseltine were Vice-Chancellor Geoff Layer and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Ian Oakes.
After a tour of the Growth Hub, during which he met key members of the team, Lord Heseltine met with members of the LEP to discuss progress on the regional strategy.
He also met two local companies, Ultra Furniture Ltd and CPN Systems Ltd, which have both benefitted from funding and support from the Black Country Growth Hub.
Businesses in the Black Country have easy access to a wide range of support and expertise through the Growth Hub, a collaboration between the four local authorities and key business support agencies including the University.
The Growth Hub offers a variety of events, drop-in sessions and business services and information for businesses looking to grow.
The Black Country Growth Hub is supported by the Regional Growth Fund. The funding was secured from the Government’s Regional Growth Fund through Lancaster University, who are leading the creation of 15 new growth hubs across the UK.
