Winner of an AUA Award for Innovative Involvement

Janice Stanton, Senior Quality Officer at the University has won the ‘Association University Administrations’ award for Innovative Involvement.

Janice was nominated for the award by the AUA Midlands Regional Co-ordinator for her role in innovative practice when networking an online workshop.

The award ceremony had taken place at the Palace Hotel in Manchester after the annual Gala dinner hosted by the AUA on 15 April.

The AUA stated that they had an excellent field of candidates this year which is a testament to the excellent work and outstanding commitment of AUA members, both to the association and the higher education sector.

Janice said:  “I do not want publicity to say ‘look what I’ve done’ but I would like to use this achievement  to make my colleagues aware of the AUA and the opportunities that it presents for them to engage in these type of  activities.

“We want more people to join the AUA, as it can provide fantastic networking opportunities to interact with colleagues from other Universities that are doing the same role.

“Overall, the award is not only a personal achievement, but I see it as raising the profile of the University of Wolverhampton on a national platform.”

This was a joint award with fellow advocates from the University of Nottingham and Cranfield University in recognition of a Continuous Professional Development workshop that they ran simultaneously and networked via the internet.

Janice has worked for the University for over 10 years, in her job role as Senior Quality Officer of Academic Standards of Quality Division for the last seven.

In addition, she is also the advocate for the University of Wolverhampton branch of the AUA. The AUA exists to promote professional recognition and personal development of those that work in administrative and managerial roles in Higher Education.
