24/09/2014

UoW students perform at OMG Live‌The festival kicked off on 24 April at the LG Arena Forum Live in Birmingham where student bands were joined by the likes of X Factor’s Union J and boy-band Lawson.

Thousands of people enjoyed performances of more than 30 popular music acts including University student bands, ‘The Tormentors’ and ‘The Strike.’

Carolina Pereira aged 27, studies Music and Popular Music at the University and is also a singer in student band ‘The Tormentors.’

Carolina said: “We had a brilliant experience at OMG Live as neither one of us had performed for such a big crowd.

“The feeling of people screaming after each song was absolutely brilliant.

“It felt so surreal being asked for signatures and photos, it will definitely be a moment we will never forget.”

The University sponsors OMG Live along with supporting its Performing Arts students on getting the opportunities they need to progress in the music industry.

Jaki Graham, Honorary Graduate of Doctor of Music, helped deliver professionally led Master-classes to students from schools and academies from the West Midlands held at the University of Wolverhampton’s performing arts building ‘The Performance Hub.’
