Long serving staff celebrated

07/11/2008
This year’s event included an award for Superintendent Technician Stewart Mason from the School of Art & Design, who has worked at the University for 40 years.

Four other members of staff received awards for 25 years service at the awards on Monday, 10 November 2008. They were:
  • Training and Information Manager Nici Cooper
  • School of Applied Sciences Associate Dean Dr Kevin Hogan
  • Senior Lecturer in Nursing & Midwifery Pauline Lim
  • School of Art & Design Senior Lecturer George Marks.

Resources Librarian Pamela Morris also received an award for 25 years service but was unable to attend.

The members of staff and their partners were invited to Wolverhampton Science Park to receive special gifts from the Vice Chancellor Professor Caroline Gipps and Chairman of the University’s Board of Governors, John Sharples.

Professor Gipps said: “Staff are the lifeblood of any organisation and to be able to offer a token to staff who have served us so long is great. I would like to thank the members of staff for their loyalty and support.”

Mr Sharples thanked the members of staff for their hard work and loyalty on behalf of the Board of Governors.

The long service awards were organised by Wendy Worrall on behalf of the Personnel Department.  Director of Personnel Roger Williams welcomed everyone to the event and also read a biography of each of the long serving members of staff at the ceremony.
