..University of Wolverhampton’s annual Art & Design Degree Show.
The University of Wolverhampton’s School of Art & Design is opening its doors to the public for the show, which features work from some of the brightest new designers in the country, across ninestoreys.
Artwork from over 300 students across 20 courses embracing Design & Applied Arts, Digital Media, Fine Art & Photography and Visual Communication, is on display from this Sunday.
Qucie Green, Marketing and Recruitment Officer for the School of Art & Design said: “There are so many outstanding examples of student work. The degree show has something interesting for everyone and we’re expecting thousands of visitors over the next week.”
Displays range from the traditional to the unusual.
Illustration student Krista Davies had work selected for a national graduate student showcase run by Computer Arts magazine. She makes models and figures and uses them in her illustrations, on display on the 3rd floor.
On the 6th Floor Studio, visitors can take part in a Fine Art Gym - and keep fit while making sculpture. The 7th floor studios includes intriguing artworks that are hard to find and graffiti inspired installations made from tights, chintz and a little Jane Austen.
Ceramics student Alex Gummer has created a very unusual installation of tableware relating to her relationship with her son.
Colm Hewson’s installation is an interactive wishing well and visitors will also be invited to have a conversation with an alien via Ellen Bagley’s ‘Entity’. Both students are from the Digital Arts and Media course.
The show is available to view at the School of Art & Design, City Campus North, Molineux Street, from Sunday June 8, 11am-4pm, then Monday June 9 – Thursday June 12, from 9am-7.30pm.
