Vice Chancellor provides the Inside Track

Professor Caroline Gipps will appear on Inside Tracks on WCR FM on Thursday, July 3 at 7pm and Tuesday, July 8 at 9am.Pete Whitehouse and Professor Caroline Gipps
 
The show is presented by the Chairman of WCR FM, Pete Whitehouse, and features 10 songs that Prof Gipps selected as important to her.
 
Prof Gipps said: “I chose Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds by The Beatles as it reminds me of growing up, and See, The Conquering Hero Comes by Handel, which was played at our wedding.
 
“I also selected a song that reminds me of a special holiday, That’s my Number by Toots & The Maytals, and a song we used to play during car journeys with our sons, American Pie by Don McLean.”
 
Dean of the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences, Dr Barbara Gwinnett, will also be sharing her choice of songs on an upcoming show. This will be broadcast on WCR on Thursday, July 10 at 7pm and Tuesday, July 15 at 9am.
 
Dr Gwinnett also chose a Beatles song, I Want to Hold Your Hand, as a reminder of growing up, and Gee, Officer Krupke! From West Side Story, as it is a favourite with her family. She also chose songs of political and social significance, including Bob Dylan’s The Times They Are A’ Changin’.
 
101.8 WCR FM is a community radio station based in Wolverhampton.
