Leading expert gives talk

11/07/2008

Professor Mike Thelwall has been listed as the world’s most productive author on the subject of informetrics, which includes measuring the value of web pages.

Prof Thelwall will present at the seminar, organised by the Black Country branch of the UK Information Technology Association (UKITA) and sponsored by the University of Wolverhampton, on Friday 18 July 2008 at Wolverhampton Science Park.

The event is aimed at businesses that are trying to build their web presence to attract more clients and people who work in the search engine optimisation industry.

Prof Thelwall, from the University’s School of Computing and IT, said: “Many people now pay others to 'optimise' their website to attract more clients but how can a non-expert tell whether this is money well-spent? This talk will explain some of the things that can be measured so that you can tell whether a website optimisation strategy is working."
