One of the leading figures of the NHS, Mark Britnell, will be the speaker at the School of Health event at Wolverhampton Science Park on Wednesday, July 30 2008.
 
Mr Britnell is the Director General of Commissioning and Systems Management at the Department of Health. The event, titled ‘Delivering world class services: 2012 and beyond’, will be attended by senior officials from West Midlands NHS Trusts, Primary Care Trusts (PCTs), the Strategic Health Authority and the ambulance service.
 
Professor David Sallah, Deputy Director of the University’s Centre for Health and Social Care Improvement, said: “The aim is to bring key people from the NHS together with University of Wolverhampton academics and researchers to discuss issues in the system such as the next steps to improving care.
 
“We will discuss how local services can be transformed to fit in with national priorities and how to take the services forward to meet people’s needs for the future.”
