Innovative courses to boost computing skills

25/04/2008
The School of Computing and IT is holding a launch event on Thursday (MAY 1) from 4-7pm to introduce its new Top-up degrees.

This event will be ideal for any student currently studying a HNC, HND, foundation degree or relevant qualification and wants to top this up to a BSc degree.

Potential students will be able to meet staff, take a tour and apply for courses.

The new courses can be studied part-time or full-time and have been developed for those interested in Computer Science and Information Technology, following high student demand for distinctive and specialist degrees.

The subjects covered include Computer Science, Games Development, Multimedia Development, Software Engineering, Computing Web Development and add to the existing Top-up courses in Business Information Technology, Computing, Information Technology and International IT Management.

Sue Gill, Course Leader for the top-up awards, said: “As a School we continue to seek new ways of keeping the Computing courses we offer attractive, current and industrially relevant to our students. Our top-up degrees provide an excellent route on to an undergraduate degree programme.

“The launch event will provide students with an ideal opportunity to find out more about our range of Top Up courses and discuss different options.”

The event will be at the City Campus in the new Technology (MI) building. For more information call 01902 321402.
