Our annual conference is designed to support teaching, careers and pastoral staff with the latest updates and practical tools to support students with preparation for Higher Education.

This year's conference will cover a range of topical issues and updates from the education sector, with a key focus on supporting your students through the cost-of-living crisis and understanding mental health, disability and inclusion support through the transition period and beyond.

With renowned keynote speakers opening discussions on current sector trends and guidance, upcoming changes and identifying key tools to support the transition process for your students, we envisage an exciting and informative day for all colleagues linked to supporting young people and adults alike with their progression into university.

Programme.

Session  What to expect!
9 am: Registration, Refreshments and Welcome Welcome to the University of Wolverhampton
Key Note: Joanne Richard; UCAS. Cost of Living and Changes to the Student Decision-making Process This session will run through research UCAS has undertaken throughout the 2022 and 23 recruitment cycles, highlighting changing decision-making and looking at where students need extra information and support.
Guest Speaker: Clare Dickens (MBE) Mental Health and Well-being for your students and supporting them with the transition to HE. Clare will also look at government regulation and policy changes expected for students with additional needs.
Panel Q&A  Join our University of Wolverhampton key services panel for a discussion and fact-finding session related to the support offered at WLV, changes in the sector and tips and resources to take away to support your charges with practical guidance with their transition to HE. Our Student Services, Academic Coaches, current students and pre-entry expert team will be on hand to facilitate this interactive session.
Lunch - plus networking  Speak to our Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing academic staff Join academic colleagues from the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing for a delicious networking lunch and an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about their courses.
