The Counter Terrorism Police have launched a winter campaign which is all about encouraging people to stay alert as they enjoy a winter season full of festive events and activities with family and friends.

As everyone starts to enjoy their Christmas events including markets, shopping and parties, the Counter Terrorism Police encourage you to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity using the UK/ACT webpage or in an emergency by calling 999.

Research shows that some people are reluctant to report suspicious activity to the police because they worry they will get it wrong or waste police time. The police want to reassure everyone that it is important to trust your instincts if you feel that something isn’t right and to report it.

The University is supporting the Counter Terrorism Policing campaign, which aims to encourage everyone to stay alert and help keep each other safe this winter.

You can play a vital role. You know your surroundings better than anyone else and you know if something isn’t right. This doesn’t just apply to work but to your commute and where you live too.
