The new smart queuing system at City ASK office saves you time waiting in line
Students can now relax in the refurbished ASK office and step away without losing their place in the queue. There is no longer a need to stand in line, shuffling forward.
The new system is intuitive, utilising WhatsApp technology, which is familiar to our student community. It also free to use for Apple or Android users. However, to ensure inclusivity there is also a kiosk that issues a paper ticket when required.
WhatsApp and the display screen show the students when it is their turn and which counter to attend. If a student needs more time (that coffee queue was longer than expected) then there is a ‘Push’ function which will move the ticket back 3 spaces.
It is hoped that this new system will improve the student experience, providing comfort and reducing anxiety for those waiting to talk to a Student Advisor.
The virtual queue management system is available at the City Campus ASK@WLV (Ambika Paul Building, MD) in collaboration with Student Life and Digital services.
Join the queue without standing in it!
