Following the Prime Minister's announcement of social restrictions which come into force immediately this evening (Monday 23 March 2020), all campus libraries will close until further notice to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The government directive outlines the following and we strongly urge students and staff to ensure that they only leave home for the following limited purposes:

- Shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible

- One form of exercise a day - for example a run, walk, cycle - alone or with members of your household

- Any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person

- Travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home.

The University has a dedicated webpage: www.wlv.ac.uk/coronavirus and a series of Frequently Asked Questions which are regularly updated.

The wellbeing of our students continues to be the University’s priority and we are encouraging everyone to be mindful of their own health and that of their family and colleagues. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and co-operation during this time.
