Fake HMRC phishing email warning for students

You may have received an email claiming to come from HMRC. This is a phishing email which is seeking to capture information about you. 

If you have received an email with the subject ‘Claim your tax – University of Wolverhampton’ or similar, please do not open the email and delete it from your inbox. If you have already opened the email, please do not click any links or respond to it and delete it from your inbox.

If you have opened the email and provided any of the requested information, please contact your bank as a matter of urgency.

As a precaution, you will also need to change your IT account password, which you can do by pressing ‘Ctrl, Alt, Delete’ and selecting ‘Change a Password’.
