MSc Advanced Clinical Practice student wins first prize at conference.

Jess Carpenter a MSc Advanced Clinical Practice student has won first prize at the annual Association of Advanced Practice Educators UK (AAPEUK) conference.

The Association of Advanced Practice represents the influential collaborative network of Higher Education Institutions across the four nations of the United Kingdom who provide advanced clinical practice programmes of education. At their annual conference the AAPEUK welcomed abstracts of posters which reflected sustainable leadership in advanced practice.

Jess has been involved in an innovative service improvement project within her organisation to reduce the carbon footprint as a result of prescribing of metered dose inhalers. Not only has Jess successfully applied the initiative to her MSC Advanced Clinical Practice pathway she has won first prize when presenting the initiative at the conference on Friday 6 December to the panel of the AAPEUK members.

Jess was awarded a £200 voucher and a goodie bag at the conference.

As her course lead Sandra Dilks said: " This was a fantastic achievement for Jess to showcase her work and demonstrate her ability to embrace the four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice, not only as a student but as an excellent clinician. The team at the University congratulate Jess on her success."
