The University of Wolverhampton Careers team can help you navigate your career journey throughout your studies and beyond.

We can support you with the skills and preparation you need to make your way into employment or further study successfully. There are many opportunities available, including part time work, placements, graduate roles, self-employment and volunteering.

The Workplace

The Workplace is your hub for employment.  Whether you’re looking for a part-time job during your studies, summer placements, sandwich placements, volunteering, work experience, virtual internships, international opportunities and graduate jobs… register with the Job Board to connect with vacancies.

Career SPACE

The Career SPACE portal is available for all our students and recent graduates. Career SPACE allows you to access the latest career-related advice, tutorials, tools such as Interview Simulator and CV builder, 100’s of employer videos and book one-to-one career appointments. Register with Career SPACE. 

Final year support

For students in your final year, you’ll no doubt be thinking about what comes next. It’s natural to be a little anxious or unsure. But don’t worry, we have a package of support ready for you. Find out more about the Final Year Career Support.

Exciting opportunities

We regularly offer opportunities for you to apply for specialist funding and training programmes, such as The Lord Paul Award.  This Award will support nine student entrepreneurs to develop their fledgeling businesses, with bespoke business development support and prize funds of up to £10,000.

The Careers Team host a regular schedule of events, including conferences, workshops and drops ins. The following gives you a taster of what’s coming up:   

  • Career Bites drop in to discuss any quick careers queries. Tuesdays, 12 noon – 2 pm, via Zoom Register here
  • Career Hangout on topical subjects and career tips, Wednesdays, 12 noon – 12.30 pm, via Zoom Register here
  • Career Workshops on employability skills and topical subjects, Fridays, 12 noon – 1 pm, via Zoom Register here

If you’re looking for part time work experience or a placement, why not join our friendly Employer Liaison team for a chat on Teams.

Upcoming sessions:

  • Tuesday, 27 April, 12 noon – 1 pm: Are you looking to Volunteer? Come and speak with Anne- Marie, the Volunteer Coordinator. No booking required; join via Teams.  
  • Thursday 29 April, 12 noon – 1 pm: Are you looking for a Placement? Come and speak with the company ‘Year in Industry. No booking required; join via Teams.
