Our selection of cutting-edge short courses focus on the digital and cyber sector, and draw upon the extensive experience of the University of Wolverhampton's lecturers, as well as from employers currently working inside and contributing to these exciting industries. Course content is kept up-to-date with the ever-changing demands of practitioners.

There are four short courses available, each running over 12-14 weeks and delivered from 1pm-8 pm, one day per week, with breaks for independent study. The courses will be a blend of face-to-face tutorials, practical lab sessions, online self-directed study and work-based activities assessed by a portfolio, which will demonstrate the skills and knowledge you have achieved.

Our teaching is supported by outstanding facilities on our Wolverhampton City Campus. Meanwhile, the Midlands Centre for Cyber Security provides significant resources for research and development across three cyber laboratories, advanced training facilities, and business space for up to 16 cyber companies as well as for our students.

Researchers from our Wolverhampton Cyber Research Institute are collaborating with industrial and governmental organisations on all aspects of security and privacy, helping to tackle threats in the cyberspace and remain committed to cyber innovation, cyber-crime reduction, and protecting citizens online.

Essential Information

These short courses are designed to accommodate your work commitments. Flexible, distance-learning work is delivered over 12 weeks, comprising two hours of live online teaching scheduled outside typical working hours (i.e. from 5-7pm). A further two hours will be dedicated to asynchronous learning, to be completed at times of your choosing.

By accounting for ongoing employment, this programme offers an opportunity to level up your career path. Roles which benefit from this curriculum include housing management and advocacy, homelessness work, neighbourhood coaching and estates management. Course fees amount to £2,310; we anticipate learners may be supported with tuition fee costs by their employers.
