    Child protection and domestic abuse

I am the Programme leader for the BA (Hons) Professional Policing and the BSc (Hons) Policing and Intelligence Degree.

After graduating from university with a BA (Hons) in Human Communication Studies, I joined West Midlands Police where I served as a Police Officer for 15 years. I specialised in safeguarding and became the Domestic Abuse Officer for the Walsall area. I went on to become a police trainer, teaching all aspects of policing.

I left the police force to take up a post as Training Manager for Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board where I was responsible for negotiating, securing and co-ordinating Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board’s annual training plan, ensuring all professionals working with children had the correct level of child protection training.
