I innovate to support growth and recruitment to full and part-time courses and help to raise aspirations and higher skills levels in Telford.
My whole career has been spent in education, including roles in teaching, careers advice and as a higher education professional.
After teaching German and French at secondary level, I moved into Higher Education and was Student Recruitment Manager at an HE College affiliated to the University of Southampton. I developed expertise in schools liaison, marketing, prospectus planning and design and IAG. Having moved to Shropshire I worked at NEWI (now Glyndwr University) in their Marketing Team. I was Student Services Coordinator in an FE context and then moved to Connexions where I was a Personal Adviser working with vulnerable young people in schools and the community. I was a Careers Guidance professional in Telford & Wrekin for 13 years and I hold specialist qualifications in the field. My caseload included delivering guidance in Telford College as well as HE and careers guidance in several Telford schools. I also worked intensively with highly vulnerable young people who were NEET or at risk of becoming NEET. I worked with the young people and their families to break down barriers to EET.
I have extensive knowledge of Telford and its communities and have built a highly developed range of stakeholder partnerships. This is of huge benefit in my current role at the University which I began in 2017.
