Applied Research and Knowledge Transfer

Our research activity is available to support and enhance the activities of industrial, commercial and public sector organisations through various routes:

Caparo Innovation Centre

The Caparo Innovation Centre (CIC) is a collaboration between Caparo plc and the School of Technology providing new product development services to inventors and businesses. Based at the Wolverhampton Business Solutions Centre, the centre is staffed by a team of product and business development professionals covering the critical range of engineering, marketing, design and business skills. With access to development and prototyping resources at the University, as well as the manufacturing and distribution expertise of the Caparo Group of companies, the CIC is an imaginative new approach to turning product ideas into business realities.

Its services are targeted at two distinct groups: individual inventors and businesses involved in new product introduction. The Help for Inventors service is specifically designed for inventors who would like assistance in developing and commercialising their new product ideas. It offers a comprehensive range of Services for Businesses involved in the new product introduction process.

West Midlands Centre for Construction Excellence

WMCCE is supported by the University of Wolverhampton. It is a member of the Built Environment Improvement Network (BEIN) along with centres in the South East, South West, Wales North West, Northern Ireland, North East, Yorkshire & Humberside and East of England. These centres drive Best Practice in construction by providing ways for businesses, clients and society to learn, share and improve their construction knowledge and practices through information sharing and industry support.
