Sport and Physical Activity Links with Industry

We offer consultancy, work placements and coaching courses, as well as having close ties with the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).  We are accredited with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) and Sports Coach UK.

Consultancy

Current members of the Institute are involved in the following sport science support: Premier League referees, Walsall FC, RYA Sailing World Class Performance / Potential Programme, All England Netball Club, Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Professional body links

BASES is the professional body of sports science. It provides professional and ethical guidelines for those working in sports and exercise science, organises annual conferences to disseminate research and good practice, and runs an accreditation system to train new sport and exercise scientists.

Our staff includes the editor of the BASES Sport and Exercise Scientist publication.

Professional accreditation

Our courses are accredited by high profile governing bodies. Our Sports Coaching course is accredited by Sports Coach UK, and students who complete the Physical Activity, Exercise and Health degree gain the Level 3 Advanced Personal Trainer award, leading to level 3 accreditation with the Register of Exercise Professionals.
