Aderemi A. ATAYERO is an accomplished professor leading the transformation in African Higher Education. He is the 5th Vice-Chancellor and Head of the IoT-Enabled Smart and Connected Communities Research (IESCC) Group Covenant University - the leading tertiary education institution in Nigeria. He is recognized for contemporary multidisciplinary academic research across wireless/mobile communications, Internet of Things (loT), smart cities and cyber-physical systems. His progressive academia leadership experience in developing team members and collaborating with alumni, staff, and faculty to maintain the competitive edge propelled Covenant University to the Time Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.

Prof. Atayero was recently appointed as National Research and Education Network (NREN) Ambassador, by the board of the West and Central African REN (WACREN). He is a distinguished fellow at various organization in Nigeria and Internationally. He is widely published in international peer reviewed journals and proceedings and serves in editorial board of several international scientific and engineering journals. A recipient of various awards and scholarships including IEOM Society Outstanding Educator Award for exceptional contribution to academia from University of the District of Columbia (UDC), Atayero is an elected member of various Fellowships.
